Children are magnetically attracted to soil and mud, it's good for them and us all, in so many ways, it helps boost their immune systems, soils give of serotonin which make us happy, they can investigate and explore the rich micro world in the soil. The Growing Devon Schools Partnership, of which Nicky is chair, is helping schools connect outdoor play and learning into school life and enable curriculum subjects to be taught outdoors.

Dr Compost has been pioneering food waste composting systems in schools for many years supported in this work by the local authorities and Melissa Harvey.
